No backup arguments, just a little thing to spark a debate.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nI think that we should keep our troops in Turkey. Turkey's neutral disposition and location makes it a critical staging facility for our West Asian troops. From here, it is possible to mediate conflicts in the middle east and exert our military quickly.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThoughts? Counter arguments? Likewise, one can assume that Turkish police and US Army personnel will prevent civilian incursions on the base.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nOf course, maintaining good relations with Turkey is necessary to avoid flak for our friendly relations with Israel. <br \/>\n<br \/>\nAs for the fact of Turkey's Islamic stance, it has proven to not be relevant to extremists who operate in west Asia. What about their recent nuclear deal with Iran?  It also seems like Turkey's leader has some extremist sentiments and is interested in getting into the fray in the region.
